  • The Narendra Modi-led Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP) government has launched the fourth round of the Regional Connectivity Scheme (RCS) meant to stimulate air connectivity in an affordable way, which is a part of its plan to operationalize over 100 airports in smaller towns and cities over the next five years. The focus of the fourth round of RCS will be bringing connectivity to priority areas like North East India, Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, hilly states in others parts of the country, and islands, the ministry of civil aviation (MoCA) said in a statement on Tuesday.

  • The board of public sector lender Punjab & Sind Bank will meet on 6 December to consider the lender’s proposal to raise up to ₹500 crore through a qualified institutional placement. QIP is a tool used by listed companies to sell shares, debentures, or any securities, other than warrants that are convertible into stocks, to a qualified institutional buyer such as mutual funds and foreign institutions.
  • Pharmaceutical firm Biocon Ltd on Tuesday said Siddharth Mittal has taken over as the company’s chief executive officer (CEO) and joint managing director (MD) starting 1 December. Mittal replaced Arun Chandavarkar, who retired on 30 November after spending nearly three decades at the bio-similar manufacturer.
