  • The first-ever Prosperity & Inclusion City Seal and Awards (PICSA) Index, was released in Bilbao in northern Spain. Zurich ranked the number one, and scored highest in all measures, particularly in quality of life, work, housing, leisure, safety, and education. From India, Bangalore ranked 81, Delhi at 101 and Mumbai at 107 are the other Indian cities to make at the index. A total of 113 countries were listed in the ranking.

  • Mahindra Susten, the renewable business arm of Mahindra group, has got binding offers from CLP India and the Piramal Group for its 160 megawatts (MW) solar assets.

Sports:

  • Virat Kohli becomes the fastest captain to score 5000 runs in test cricket. He took 86 innings to reach there, marching ahead of Australian skipper Ricky Pointing who took 97 innings to achieve the feat
  • Indian boxing star Vijender Singh demolished Ghana’s former Commonwealth champion Charles Adamu to claim his 12th successive win in professional wrestling.
  • Bangladesh becomes to 1st team to have 2 concussion substitutions in the same match.  ICC allowed concussion replacements in all international matches from August 1, 2019. Mehidy Hasan and Taijul Islam are the 2 replacements players and  will play the remainder of Pink Ball Test
