The recruitment for various posts under Railway Recruitment Board will be conducted by a common computer based online test from this year i.e. 2016. All the candidates desired to apply for the various posts must apply through online mode only as RRB has already mentioned the instructions for filling up the application form on their official website. This year RRB has changed the exam pattern with the introduction of General Awareness which includes questions based on current affairs, major finance, economics news, budget, sports, Five year plan, National & international institutes instead of General Knowledge.

According to AB ROY Sir, Sehpaathi paper analyst and teacher, General Awareness includes questions based on General Science and General knowledge. However, there will be no questions asked from History, Civics, and Geography. The 100 marks online exam will be conducted tentatively between the months of March-May, 2016 which includes General Awareness questions as well as the questions on Arithmetic ability, Reasoning, Technical ability attempted within 90 minutes. It is expected that the marks for each section will be as follows:

Arithmetic ability – 25 marks

General intelligence – 25 marks

General awareness – 20 marks

Reasoning  – 30 marks 

The age limit for the Graduate level 18252 posts under RRB will be minimum 18 years and maximum 32 years. However, relaxation will be provided as per the government rules to the prescribed categories. The application fees for male General & OBC categories candidates will be Rs.100/- and there will be no fees for female/SC/ST/ExSM/PWD candidates.

The vacancies for Ranchi Railway board are 562, Patna Railway Board 714, Muzzafarpur Railway Board 464, Kolkata Railway Board 1408 and including all the 20 railway boards the total vacancies are 18252 for various posts. There will be negative marking as if three questions are wrong 1 mark will be deducted for that. Candidates successfully qualified the Online test will be then called for Typing skill test and aptitude test.
