IBPS PO MAINS 2015 PAPER Review

Hello Readers,

With IBPS PO 2015 took place today we are here with the review of the 1st session of exam.

IBPS is a combined Recruitment exam for all nationalized banks in India except SBI and Associates.

The paper consisted of 200 marks in which 5 sections were there and time allowed was 120 mins. Every questions carried 1 mark for correct answer and negative marking of 0.25 marks in Answered wrong

Quant and DI – 50 marks
Reasoning       – 50 marks
English            – 40 marks.
General Awareness – 40 Marks
Computer Awareness- 20 Marks

Cutoff Estimates of IBPS PO 2015 MAINS

The paper was on a moderate to difficult node (difficult than IBPS PO 2014) in which one can attempt 80-85 in 2 hour. 

Quant and DI
Quant was difficult with long calculations. Questions on approximation were also tricky. DI comprised of 25 marks, in which calculations were easy in 1 set. Questions on percentage,discounts, approximation were there. There were many new type of questions  A average attempt was between 12-14

Reasoning
Reasoning was tough. Paper consisted of questions from syllogism, inequality, blood relations. Many question sets were introduced for the first time in the paper The average attempt in this section was in between 11-13

English
English was moderate. Comprehension consisted of a large part of the paper. In other questions were from para jumbles, find the grammatical error, cloze test, rearrange the sentences. The average attempt in the section was between 15-17

General Awareness:
As we have always said this is the score increasing section. Again a lot of questions were from banking (almost 20), if one had gone through current affairs we discussed for 3 months one could attempt more 10 questions easily. Though the average attempt in this section was 15-17

Computer Awareness:
This is a highly scoring section for engineering graduates. Questions in this section were simple and related to day to day computers used in banking. It contained shortcodes, Questions on computer architecture. Overall computer graduates or candidates with basic knowledge of computers can attempt 15-18 questions. However the average attempt in this section will be 8-10
