Expected Joining Dates for Upcoming Bankers
For Probationary Officers:
Your Offer Letters are expected to reach your home and mails after 15th April and your joining in banks will start from May 2016 and will continue till Oct- 2016 depending from bank to bank. This year it is expected that the process will be a bit delayed as seen in previous years where banks came up with joining dates spread over 6 months.
Usually place of posting for Probationary officers are declared after their Orientation Program. Mostly Girls are allowed posting in their home state (Following guidelines from Women Ministry which says that a girl needs to be accommodated at the location nearest her parents home if unmarried and at location of spouse if married.) and boys are posted in the nearby states. This change has been seen in the HR policy of various banks to increase retention of young talent with them.

Duties of a Probationary officer in banking
During probation period there are usually 2-3 transfers (some within city, some within state, some within India depending from bank to bank) Usually it is within city for girls and within state for boys. Bank want to get used to different environment, different work cultures, learn different things.
Training are common during your probation period. Bank wants to learn you more and more about banking.
For Clerical

This year it is expected that the process will be a bit delayed as seen in previous years where banks came up with joining dates spread over 3 months and it was done state wise.
Usually place of posting for Clerical staff are declared during joining notification from bank. Usually Girls are allowed posting in their home posting and boys are posted in the nearby towns. This change has been seen in the HR policy of various banks to increase retention of young talent with them.
During probation period there are usually no transfers. Probation Period for Clerical Staff varies from 6 months to 1 year.
