Bank of Baroda GD and Interview Experience

Here I’m going to share my first banking interview experience.
Here are the details:

Date: 10th July 2017
Time: 09:30 PM
Place: CONFERENCE ROOM; DMRI REGION 12TH FLOOR; BANK OF BARODA BUILDING 16 SANSAD MARG CONNAUGHT PLACE NEW DELHI 110001
GROUP DISCUSSION
I reached at 09:00 AM there, and started with my doc verification at 10:00 AM.
At 11:00 we all were called for GD session. Panel of 5 people (4 M and 1 F).
We were 10 candidates in the group and we had been given the topic
“DEMONETIZATION?”.. We all had been given 2 min to write our points about it and then we all started putting our points one by one.
Then panel asked us to discuss it out together for another few minutes when we all completed our individual points.
In all it was a healthy discussion
PERSONAL INTERVIEW
After half an hour, they informed us that PI is going to start now.. I was the 5th in
Queue to get interviewed. I was excited as It was my first banking interview.
My turn came, I asked.. May I come in Please??..
M1 (Center): Yes Please..
Me: Thank You and Moved in.. Stood near chair and greeted everyone with Good
Afternoon everyone! ( With Smile).
M1(Hindi Me) : So, Preeti.. Aapne M.Sc kis subject se ki h ??..
Me: Sir,M.Sc Biodiversity and Conservation.
M1: Acha..Can U please tell us that What is the meaning of Biodiversity??..
Me: Sir, Biodiversity means Variety and Variability of Organisms at species level,Ecosystem Level and Genetic level.
M2: So,What is the scope after doing this course?
Me: Sir, After this course we can do research,various projects,Phd or apply for teaching at college level.
M3: What is the relevance of this course with banking??
Me: Sir, As such there is no direct relation but yes as I have studied little bit about Agriculture so,I can relate my that knowledge while providing agriculture loans.
M1: Nahi Nahi Beta aise to bhut kuch hota h Agriculture me usse nahi relate kr paoge,wo to bilkul alag cheej ho jaegi and they both smiled
Me: Ok Sir and Me too Smiled 🙂
M3: Ok So aapne NITI Aayog k bare me to suna hoga,So tell me the Chairman,Vice Chairman and CEO of NITI Aayog.
Me: Yes Sir,Chairman is Our PM Narendra Modi,Vice Chairman – Arvind Panaragiya and CEO is Amitabh Kant
M3: Good,Now tell me aapne GD me Merger ka issue Bola tha. Recently Kaunse banks ka Merger hua h aur hame kya fayda merger se
Me:Yes Sir,recently State Bank of India ka merger hua h with the SBI Associates and Bhartiya Mahila Bank.And Sir, due to merger we are able to build a global bank by becoming more financially stable.
F1: Acha,Chalo Family K bare me btao
Me: Ok Mam,My Father is _____ in ______ department.My Mother’s a Homemaker.My elder sister is preparing for civil services and younger brother is Engineer in _____________
M1: To dono sisters civil services hi krlo na
Me: ( Smiling) No sir, mera bilkul interest nahi hai.IAS me political interference bhut jyada hai
Panel was looking satisfied..
So, M1 ( Center): Thank you.. Ab aap ja sakte hai.! Take a Toffee
Me: Thank you! ( Sabko smile dete hue toffee uthate hue return)
After coming out.. Jo bhi experience tha wo bahot achha tha. Panel was so humble and cooperative ????????.
So, that was how my interview went. I’m hopeful
