Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana, a scheme which can change life of crores of under-previlaged and poor Indians. A health care policy which is largest in the world and would cover more than 50 crore poor Indian citizens who can avail upto Rs. 5,00,000 on their medical expenditure in a calendar year. Over 10 crore (100 million) Indian families will be directly benefited from the scheme. The entitlement is decided on the basis of deprivation criteria in the Socio-Economic Caste Census database

Why Ayushman Bharat?
The 71st round of National Sample survey Organization revealed that 85.9 percent of rural households and 82% of urban households have no access to Healthcare Insurance. Report Suggested that over 25% of these have to borrow money from money lenders to avail medical facilities.
The Scheme thus targets poor, deprived rural families and identifies an occupational category of urban worker’s family. In total 8.03 crore rural families and 2.33 urban families will be linked to the scheme as per latest Socio-Economic caste census.
The Scheme will provide cashless and paperless access to medical services at the point of service. Eligible people can avail all medical benefits at listed Government and private hospitals.
The Average rates covered under the scheme will be 15-20% less than the CHGS (Central Government Health Scheme)

Who can avail the Scheme
The beneficiaries are identified based on the deprivation categories ( D1, D2, D3, D4, D5, D6 and D7) For urban areas, the 11 occupational criteria will determine entitlement.
There is no CAP on family size and age. In total every family will get Rs.500000/- per year medical insurance.
