State Bank of India has released its official notification for the recruitment of Junior Associates (Customer Support and Sales) and Junior Agricultural Associates in Clerical Cadre. The number of vacancies is huge- more than 15,000, out of which more than 7,000 vacancies are for the unreserved category.

What has actually changed about SBI-Clerk Mains exam 2016 ?

However, this notification has brought with it some surprises. Lets have a look at what SBI Clerical Cadre would be like:

Sectional Time Limits Introduced: For the first time, SBI Mains exam will have sectional time limits which means:

• Candidates will have to complete all the questions of a particular section within the given time only

• Candidates cannot switch between sections.

• Candidates cannot revisit a section once the time limit is over.

Differential Marking Scheme Introduced: Till date, Banks had a uniform marking scheme of 1 mark for every correct answer and -0.25 mark for every wrong answer across all the questions. However, this time marking scheme is not uniform across all sections in SBI Clerical Mains 2016 exam. SBI has given more weightage to reasoning in comparison to other sections.

• Interview: The notification states that the process of interview after the exam is subject to the approval from Government Of India.

With only a few days for SBI Mains examination, its time now for the candidates to pull up their socks and be thoroughly prepared for the exam.

• Focus on Sectional Tests: Candidates cannot ignore any section. Each section carries dedicated timing so score of candidates in various section which were earlier ignored is expected to go up. This is especially true for English and GK which are least prepared sections by SBI-Clerk exam aspirants.

• Never fall short of practice: Practice all topics regularly so as to get indepth knowledge of each section. This is the first time that SBI-Clerk exam is being conducted in the form of Prelims and Mains. The candidates must dedicate enough time to high difficulty level questions, especially in Quant and reasoning to go well prepared for SBI-Clerk mains 2016 recruitment exam.

• Lay Emphasis on English Section: For getting good score in English, practise 1 reading comprehension and 1 para jumble daily at least. Go through basics of Grammar regularly.

• Plan Appropriate Time Management Strategy: As per the previous examination pattern, candidates could spend limited time on sections like GK and English and utilise more time on other sections. As per the new exam pattern of SBI-Clerk Mains 2016, there is time limit for each section. So,candidates should first attempt questions which they are aware of in each section and after marking all known questions, attempt unanswered questions which seem solvable. Your first target is to clear sectional cut-off and then try and improve your overall score to clear exam cut-off.

• Take Online Test Series: You must have realized during the Prelims that it is very essential to take online test series as the candidate is not accustomed to concentrating on a computer screen for such long time durations.

• GA could be the deal breaker: Now that General Awareness has dedicated timing, in order to score well in GA section, candidates should keep themselves updated about current affairs and latest ongoing events in the country. • Avoid loss of marks due to negative marking: With more time available for GK and English, avoid making random guesses just to kill time. This will cost you in your final score. Moreover, Reasoning section carries more marks/question than any other section. So negative marking for this section will also be higher. Avoid random guessing at all times.
