Detailed Analysis of SBI Clerical Exam till now:
Number of sections : 5 (Quant, Reasoning, English, General Awareness, Computer/Marketing Awareness)
Number of questions : 200 (= 5 section * 40 questions per section)
Time duration : 135 minutes (2 hrs 15 minutes)
Difficulty level : Overall the Paper level lies in the range Easy to Moderate with more inclination towards Easy. The reason being the time duration (135 minutes) available to solve the paper as generally most banking exams today provide only 120 minutes to solve the paper. So these extra 15 minutes play a vital role in deciding the difficulty level of paper.
Section-wise analysis :
Quantitative Aptitude :
- 2 sets of Data Interpretation [5-6 questions in each set] (Moderately Easy to solve if you practice DI regularly)
- Basic questions form topics like CI/SI, Percentage, Time-Speed and distance, Work & Time, Ratio-Proportion and Variation, Linear equations.
- Questions on Pattern Based number series [4-5 questions] (e.g.What comes in place of ? in the series: 1, 2, 4, 7, ?)
- Questions on Approximate calculation [5-6 questions]
Reasoning :
- Questions on Linear Seating Arrangement [1 set with 5-6 questions]
- Questions on Circular Seating Arrangement (with persons facing towards and opposite to the center) [1 set with 5-6 questions]
- Questions on Syllogism (limited to 2 statements) [4-5 questions]
- Questions on Coding/Decoding [1 set of 3-4 statements with 5-6 questions]
- Questions on Data Arrangement (puzzles) [2 sets with 4-5 questions each]
- Questions on Inequalities [5-6 questions]
English:
- Para-jumble (Arranging sentences of a paragraph in correct order) [1 set with 5-6 question]
- Cloze Test (Paragraph with 8-10 fill in the blanks) [1 set with 8-10 blanks]
- Comprehension [1 set with 8-10 questions]
- Error Detection/ Grammar Correction in sentences [6-7 questions]
- Fill in the blanks (Sentences with single blank and 2 blanks as well) [7-8 questions]
Computer/Marketing Awareness:
- Very basic questions (full forms, definition based questions) from Marketing and Computer in almost equal number.
General Awareness :
This section covered questions from following areas:
- Current affairs (If you regularly follow newspapers, magazines, news channels then this section is a piece of cake)
- Banking knowledge (Totally fact based questions on banking. E.g. Main function of RBI, banking terminology etc.)
So far, this has been the pattern followed in SBI Clerical Exam 2014 and we expect the same pattern to be followed in upcoming exam dates.
