Atal Ranking of Institutions on Innovation Achievements (ARIIA)
Innovation is an essential component for a countries growth. For India to become a global innovation hub, youth need incubation centers who can fund and mentor their dreams. For growth, youth especially in Higher Educational institutions need to play a crucial role to create a sustainable innovation system. The need for the hour is, that every institution must have a functional mechanism to convert research into innovation. The ecosystem will boost a startup culture in Indian colleges turning ideas into reality which will benefit the country in future and will encourage, inspire and nurture students to take their dreams to the next level.
To ensure that this ecosystem thrives, Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India has decided to mark all the higher educational institutes with rankings under Atal ranking of Institutions on Innovation Achievements. ARIIA will consider all major indicators which are commonly used globally to rank most innovative education institutions/ universities in the world.
ARIIA Rankings will help creating a mindset and inspire Indian institutions to reorient their mindset and build ecosystems to encourage high quality research, innovation and entrepreneurship. ARIIA will focus on quality of innovations and effect of innovation nationally and internationally. ARIIA will also guide institutions on what improvements can be made to their infrastructure to help future developments and make them competitive with foreign institutions.
ARIIA is a very good initiative by Government of India. We hope that this scheme is implements properly and its advantages are passed on to the needy students.
