Job Profile Description
- The probation period of the SBI Probationary Officer is 2 years. You can be asked to perform any kind of bank related activity. It can be either clerical or an assistant type of job. The reason for such diversity in work is to get you acquainted with various working procedures of the bank.
- You will also be trained in various disciplines like finance, accounting, marketing, billing as well as investment. This is done by entrusting you with jobs of various categories. The aim is to instil practical knowledge.

Matters such as discrepancies in accounts, rectification of undue charges and looking into complaints regarding services provided by the bank.
- The work of an SBI PO also includes managerial tasks, such as supervision of clerical work, making decisions for the benefit of the bank, and managing cash balance.

- Starting Basic Pay: Rs. 27,620/-

- Allowances: D.A, H.R.A/Lease rental, C.C.A, Medical and other allowances & perquisites as per rules in force from time to time.
- Total Compensation: Total compensation per annum would be a minimum of ₹ 7.55 lacs and maximum of ₹ 12.93 lacs depending on the place of posting and other factors.
- Other Perks: SBI plans to offer, subject to necessary approvals, a Compensation Package which would enable candidates a choice to monetize specific elements of the salary package.
SBI PO Promotion

- Level 1- Probationary Officer: The basic training phase of PO where he learns all the basic responsibilities he has to take.
- Level 2- Assistant Manager: The work of an Assistant Manager is same as that of a PO. It’s just that this post is confirmed and not on a probation period.
- Level 3- Branch Manager: The branch manager leads the whole bank branch.
- Level 4- Chief Manager: The chief manager takes the responsibility of the main branch in a city i.e. a bigger branch.
- Level 5- AGM: The Assistant General Manager takes care of a group of the branch in a region.
- Level 6- DGM: The Deputy General Manager takes care of branches in a bigger zone or no. of the region.
- Level 7- CGM: The Chief General Manager heads a circle like a complete branch of a state.
