Quantitative aptitude and data interpretation

If we take IBPS PO 4 and SBI PO 2015 as reference, we expect the quant section to be equally difficult this year. The paper was pretty hard last year as the questions were tricky and Data interpretation questions were quite lengthier. To cope up with such situations and do as many questions as possible, we suggest the following

  • All candidates to practice their skills on speed maths
  • Learn calculation short tricks
  • Learn to use approximations
  • Learn to solve Data interpretation questions with least calculation usage like rounding of the % given, turning them to percentages or degrees, solving the fact sheet and then going on to questions.
  • Last year many questions were from probability. As these questions are usually formula based candidates must practice more and more on it.

For Question Practice You can refer to Sheets

Reasoning:

According to our assessment and analysis this year reasoning will be comparatively simpler to last year. But you can expect a few difficult questions from quizzes, statement/assertion/conclusion, and syllogism. To cope up with reasoning and perform well in it we suggest all candidates to:

  • Practice single hierarchy quizzes as much as possible. (usually these questions carry 5 marks)
  • Practice statement/assertion/conclusion/inference questions. (usually these questions carry 10 marks)
  • Practice 3/4 statement patterns of syllogism more and more (usually these questions carry 5 marks)
  • Practice input/output questions. These questions are simple and usually carry 5 marks.
  • Practice Statement, Conclusion and Inference questions. They carry atleast 5 marks.

English:

English Paper is usually divided in 2 parts. One is comprehension and other is regular English involving sentence formation,  fill in the blanks, find the incorrect sentence, vocabulary words, find out the correct sentence. To score more in English people must:

  • Focus more on 2nd section of the above defined distribution.
  • For Comprehensions we need to focus on finding correct answers for synonyms and antonyms. They will fetch you around 5 marks if marked correctly.
  • If you still have time focus on comprehension answers.

General Awareness:

The best way to solve it is to keep on reading newspapers every day. This day to day news will make a lot of your paper content and if you are regular in it, GK won’t be a worry.  In case you don’t have time to read newspapers REFER TO THE BELOW LINKS:

Computer Awareness:

The engineers make the most of it. Usually this section is restricted to questions related to day to day computers used in banking operations. This is the most generalized section of the paper which may ask you simple questions over:

  • Key-strokes
  • Email
  • Shortcuts
  • Hardware’s
  • Softwares
  • Protocols
  • Database
