Ankit: How Many Marks Did you score?
Simant: I secured 89 Marks in my written exam
Ankit: What was the cutoff of your exam?
Simant: Cutoff for GEN was 61
Ankit: What was your mode of study?
Simant: I joined a coaching at Jodhpur and that coaching was very helpful
Ankit: Before giving the exam what was your state of mind?
Simant: Frankly speaking I was very confused. Even After Filling the form I was not clear on whether I would be able to give the exam or not. Even 2 days before the exam I wasn’t clear on the status of my giving the exam because the exam center was very far away from my hometown. But my parents changed my mindset and encouraged me to go ahead with the exam and give my best.
Ankit: What was the strategy that you followed just before giving the exam?
Simant: As I had been preparing for the exam for the past 6 months I knew my strength and weakness very well. English, GK and reasoning were my strong points. Initially I went behind these sections and tried to complete them as soon as possible. Within an hour I almost finished of with these areas. In the last hour I went for Quant and computers.
Ankit: You said GK is your strong point. How did you prepare for it?
Simant: A normal conception is that GK is an endless subject. The more you read learn the better it is. So in my thinking as we prepare for a banking exam, GK comes from the last 6 months to 1 year. So I searched out the important content from the past 1 year and just read it up. I used to go through the banking updates on a regular basis. I refered to daily newspapers especially from finance. I also went through GK websites like jagranjosh, bankersadda etc.
Ankit: How did you cope up with your weak areas?
Simant: Actually my maths was very poor. I was very bad with it. I was not a maths student. But the faculty at coaching made me comfortable with it. They made me perfect with the areas I was good in. The result was I was able to cope up with my weak area.
Ankit: If you would like to share anything from your side to our viewers and advice them about future Banking exams?
Simant: From the 1st day follow your teacher advices.
