Will SBI Clerical Be cancelled? High Court Notice

Dear Sehpaathians

This year SBI made it mandatory for the aspirants to give an undertaking to the bank that their no loan is NPA. Due to this undertaking many students were unable to apply for SBI Clerical this year.

Now a banking candidate from Chennai has lodged a PIL in Madras High Court against State Bank of India for not allowing loan defaulters from applying for SBI Clerical cadre recruitment 2016-17 for which 17000 posts were announced.

The court has sought a reply from SBI Chairman Arundhati Bhatacharya within 2 week time to respond to the plea seeking cancellation of Recruitment examination for SBI Clerical and want court to direct SBI to issue a fresh notification for the posts of SBI Clerical.

On the condition laid by State Bank of India he has given the case

“The condition of the bank would only make more Defaulters. Instead of giving employment to the candidates to make them repay loans, the bank was creating
lakhs of defaulters of education loan by stipulating unreasonable and arbitrary
ineligibility condition”

Our view on the whole Development:

This is no surprise for us. It was expected to take place. Many economically and backward children whose loans have become NPA’s due to family conditions couldn’t apply for the exam.

In our view SBI Clerical Exam mains might get postponed, with SBI Inviting applications again for recruitment of Clerical Associates, without this condition. The exam won’t be completely cancelled because it involved a lot of money and preparation of the students who had already applied/appeared.

Our View over Results of Pre Exam:

SBI Clerical Pre result announcement will be subject to the decision given by the court. If court orders for fresh applications, Result will be delayed.
