SSC Combined Graduate Level Tier 1 Exam Pattern

Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has released the notification for the recruitment of Group B & C posts in various Government department This is really a good  opportunity for the aspirants who have desire to work in the Government sector. Details  about the exam pattern have been provided for the benefit of our visitors.
In the SSC CGL Tier-1, there will be 200 Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ’s) to be asked from 4 Sections
  • English Language
  • Reasoning
  • Quantitative Aptitude
  • General Awareness.

The Total Duration of Tier-1 Exam is 2 Hours.Each section has 50 Questions and carry 1 mark with deduction of 0.25 marks for every wrong answer.

  • General Intelligence & Reasoning – This sections includes questions of both verbal and Non – verbal type reasoning to test the candidate’s abilities to deal with abstract ideas and their relationships such as analogies, similarities and differences,Space visualization, problem solving, analysis, Decision making, arithmetical reasoning, figure classification etc.
  • General Awareness – In this section questions were set to test the candidate’s general awareness about different scientific aspects around them as well as knowledge of History, Geography, Economics, Polity and Culture etc.
  • Numerical Ability – This is section with most weightage. The Questions in this sections are asked from the Topics such as Whole numbers, decimals and fractions and relationships between numbers, Number Theory (LCM, HCF, Prime No.s etc), Basic Maths, Algebra and Geometry, Speed, Distance and Time, Ratio & Proportion, Percentages, Probability, square roots, average, SI& CI, time and work, Triangle and its various kind of centres, circle and its chords, Tangents, Triangle, Quadrilaterals, Right circular Cone & Cylinder, Sphere, Bar diagram, Pie chart,  (The standard of the questions will be of 10+2 level).
  • English Language and Comprehension – 100 Questions / 100 marks – This section is necessary to test candidate’s knowledge of English Language, its vocabulary, Synonyms, Antonyms, Grammar etc.
