According to Railways, Approximate 91 lac Candidates applied for the various posts and appeared in written examination of RRB NTPC.

But it has been noticed from past few sessions of exam that many of the candidates appearing for railway recruitment exam have been found cheating. The modus of operation was hacking of online servers to helping the candidates solve the entire paper or answers were being provided through hidden mobile phones using services like Whatsapp etc.

Now what is being speculated after the complete episode is that this exam might be completely scrapped and Railways come out with fresh notification or some other mode of examination. Till now over 8 cases of cheating have been identified and reported, but the number of candidates trying this might be much more. Exams of LIC AAO 2016, results of which were announced recently are also under the scanner as the exam platform of both the exams is same. It is also being told that the sudden pattern change being talked about SSC CGL 2016 is due to the daily reports of paper leak.
