JAIIB and CAIIB Banking Certifications

In banks there are 2 banking certifications issued by Indian Institute of Banking And Finance. JAIIB is the Part 1 and CAIIB is part 2:

JAIIB:

JAIIB is the part 1 banking certification. JAIIB exam consists of 3 exams

  • Principal in banking
  • Legal
  • Accounting and Finance




Each exam consists of 100 marks and you need to achieve average of 50 marks in each exam. Passing marks in each subject can be 46 but in that case you need to clear the other exams to keep the average above 50.

For E.g. You Scored 46 in Principal in Banking and 48 in Legal, you will need atleast 56 marks in Accounting. If you get less than 56 marks you will be regarded as “FAIL”

Exams for JAIIB are held in May and Nov every year. To enroll for JAIIB exam you first need to IIBF membership which costs around Rs3000/-. Then you have to fill the form for JAIIB Certification which costs around Rs2500/-. After Filling the exam you can appear in exam for 2 consecutive sessions and in case you miss to clear it you can register for 2 more sessions. You can pass the JAIIB exam in 4 sessions. If you fail to do so in even 4 sessions you scores expire and you have to appear in all exams again.

After passing of JAIIB Certication exam you are eligible for an increment.
Increments for PO is 980 + DA
Increment for Clerical is 680 + DA

CAIIB:

CAIIB can be given by aspirants only after clearing JAIIB certification. CAIIB Is a tougher exam than JAIIB.
