We are here with a sad news regarding cancellation / Modifications of Recruitment of RRB’s through IBPS from this year. On what we are listening from the Unions of a few RRB’s like Tripura Gramin Bank, Baroda Rajasthan Gramin Bank we have come to know that the banks are opposing single stage recruitment directly from IBPS. Initially till 2014 RRB boards were given a chance to select the candidates directly. Every bank used to declare their own cutoff and interviews were directly held by the bank directly. In that process the problem was that one student was called for interview in multiple banks and on selection in multiple banks, vacancy remained vacant.

But from last year the process was streamlined and IBPS was asked to recruit the students for RRB’s directly, same way it do for IBPS Clerical and IBPS PO. What we are listening that RRB’s have opposed the IBPS move last year, and have advocated discontinuing hiring through IBPS. Every bank now again want to come out with their individual notifications and recruit students according to their own set of rules and regulations or recruit through IBPS according to the guidelines followed in 2014.

One more issue which arised last year was Language Problem. Many candidates selected for a particular bank couldn’t join due to language issues. Though IBPS has notified language choices in particular, but the messup took place in some banks.

RRB’s in India are facing huge staff shortage problems, the reason behind some quote are:

• Many Banking opportunities
• Students who are selected in IBPS RRB, many also get through in IBPS Clerical or IBPS PO, resulting which many leave bank.
• Many blame the process for the same. RRB’s are related to a particular state but applications are being filled by students across states which share the same language. In such cases talent from other states join a bank in a different state and slowly looses interest because the transfer options are limited.
