IBPS SO VI 2017 has released the call letter & the exam will be conducted on 28th & 29th January 2017 as per the official notification by IBPS. Vacancies for various profiles have been released under IBPS SO. These include –

So, We are here with the overall Job Profile of IBPS SO Agricultural Officer (Scale – I). Total 2580 vacancies have been released this year under IBPS SO Exam for Agricultural Officer

The role of an agriculture is to disburse the loans to farmers as well as others involved in the primary sector of the economy. As per the guidelines given by banks, agriculture officers are given the responsibility to promote the bank in rural areas so that the agricultural portfolio of the bank is promoted. The agriculture officer makes sure that work progress is satisfactory, ensures that the farm is profitable & meets the financial targets.

Educational Qualification:

4 year Degree (graduation) in Agriculture/ Horticulture/Animal Husbandry/ Veterinary Science/ Dairy Science/ Fishery Science/ Pisciculture/ Agri. Marketing & Cooperation/ Co-operation & Banking/ Agro-Forestry/Forestry/ Agricultural Biotechnology/ Food Science/ Agriculture Business Management/ Food Technology/ Dairy Technology/ Agricultural Engineering.

Pay Scale :

The basic salary of an agricultural officer (Scale – I) under Junior Management Grade Scale – I Officer is in the scale of Rs 14,500 – 600/7 – 18,700 – 700/2 – 20,100 -800/7 – 25,700/- approximately. So, the cash-in-hand will be around Rs. 24,000-32,000 nearly.

Responsibilities of an Agriculture Officer (Scale – I) :

  • AO promote banks’ loan products in rural areas, particularly among farmers.
  • AO meets and maintain good relationship with farmers and thereby generate Leads.
  • They conduct pre-loan sanction inspection.
  • They follow up in case of recovery of loans.
  • They also ensure the proper recovery of loan and getting the acknowledgement of debt (AOD)

Senior Management Grade Scale – IV Chief Manager

Senior Management Grade Scale – V Assistant General Manager

Top Management Grade Scale – VII General Manager

The job of an agriculture officer is primarily focused on rural areas so it is important for an agriculture officer to have specification in horticulture, animal husbandry etc. to promote the schemes of bank in rural areas.
