1. Father of Green Revolution (India) : – M.S. Swaminathan
   Dedicated to the field: Farming, Crops, Agriculture
   The Green Revolution, or Third Agricultural Revolution, is a set of research technology transfer initiatives occurring between 1950 and the late 1960s, that increased agricultural production worldwide, particularly in the developing world, beginning most markedly in the late 1960s. Dr. Swaminathan is popularly called the father of India’s Green Revolution, for his contributions to the development of high-yielding varieties of wheat. He founded the MS Swaminathan Research Foundation, the pioneer organization behind the ”evergreen revolution”.
2. Father of White Revolution (India) : – Verghese Kurein
   Dedicated to the Field: Milk / Dairy Products

   Dr. Verghese Kurien is known as the ‘Father of White Revolution’ in India. He has immensely contributed in the dairy sector and is also called as the ‘milkman of India.’Dr. Kurien made India the world’s largest milk producer from a milk-deficient nation and increased milk output four fold. He gave the billion litre idea and launched the world’s largest agricultural development programme.

   The concept of rapid increase in the production of fish and marine product through package programme is called as blue revolution. It was launched in India during the seventh Five-year plan (1985-1990) when the Central Government sponsored the Fish Farmers Development Agency (FFDA). It has brought improvement in aquaculture by adopting new techniques of fish breeding, fish rearing, fish marketing, and fish export.
