Data Sufficiency Questions are very important in every competitive examination. You can easily find a set of such questions in every examination.
There are 5 set of options In which includes
1) If statement I alone is sufficient to answer the question, while II alone is not.
2) If statement II alone is sufficient to answer the question, while I alone is not.
3) If either I or II alone are sufficient to answer the question.
4) If data in both I and II together are not sufficient to answer.
5) If data in both I and II together are necessary to answer
The rule for these questions is that every statement is independent and we will not assume anything on the basis of last statement. It is only in option number 4(given above) that we take both statements together and club there results to get our desired result.
Directions (Q. 1-10): Each of the questions below consists of a question and two statements numbered I and II given below it. You have to decide whether the data provided in the statements are sufficient to answer the question. Read both the statements and give answer
1) if the data in statement I alone are sufficient to answer the question while the data in statement II alone are not sufficient to answer the question.
2) if the data in statement II alone are sufficient to answer the question while the data in statement I alone are not sufficient to answer the question.
3) if the data either in statement I alone or in statement II alone are sufficient to answer the question.
