• The Union Ministry of Urban Development has signed a MoU with National Buildings Construction Corporation (India) Ltd and Central Public Works Department (CPWD)
• Prime Minister Narendra Modi has laid the foundation stone of  highly ambitious gas pipeline project Urja Ganga in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh.

• India and New Zealand today signed three agreements in the areas of double taxation avoidance, food security and sports to carry forward the ties between both sides

• Paul Beatty became the first author from the United States (US) to be awarded the Man Booker prize, for his book, ‘The Sellout’

• Bengaluru-based water tanker driver G Balakrishna (25-year) has won the Mr. Asia titleat the 5th Phil-Asia bodybuilding championships in the Philippines
