How Many will Qualify for SBI Clerk Main Exam 2016?

As you all know that SBI Clerk preliminary exam 2016 has now been over and result has been declared. Now qualifiers gear up for the SBI Clerk Main Exam 2016.
But this time, there is no direct link for the result on the SBI’s website. The bank has now provided a link to download call letters for main exams. Only those who clear the prelims would be able to download call letters.

Candidates who have cleared prelims will be able to see their main exam date, time and location in the call letter. And those who have not qualified will see a message, “You have not qualified for the main examination”.
There are many questions which candidates have in mind. Many of the students have qualified for main exam. There are many who could not make to the next round. The question is that how many will get selection in the SBI Clerk Main Exam 2016.
Let us first understand that how many students have appeared in the preliminary exam. As per the estimates (as no official figures are available) more than 20 lacs students appeared in this massive exam.
Exam Pattern of SBI Clerical Mains has changed this year.
As you know, this recruitment was conducted for about 17,000 vacancies, in the clerical cadre. Normally in most of the competitive exams the ratio of the number of candidates’ remains in the ratio of 1: 20, which means for 1 post approximately 20 candidates will be shortlisted. Going by this ratio the likely number of the candidates for the main exam should be in the range of about 3.50 lacs to 3.75 lacs.
