Grammy and BAFTA Awards 2017

59th Annual Grammy Awards and 70th British Academy Film Awards were announced on 12th February 2017. We are sharing with you all brief overview and the list of winners of these awards this year.

Grammy Awards

Grammy Awards were originally called as Gramophone award. Grammy Awards give recognition to the outstanding performances of the English Language Music Industry and are awarded by The Recording Academy. The first ceremony of Grammy Awards was held on May 4, 1959. Sir Georg Solti holds the record for most Grammy wins with a total of 31 Grammy awards.  The 59th Annual Grammy Awards was held at the Staples Center, Los Angeles on February 12, 2017.

BAFTA Awards

In order to honour the best British and International contributions to the Film industry, the British academy Film Awards are presented annually by British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA). Formed in 1947, British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA) is an independent charity that supports, develops and promotes the art forms of the moving image – film, television and game in the United Kingdom.These awards were first presented on 29th May 1949. The 70th British Academy Film Awards were presented at Royal albert Hall, London on 12th February 2017.
